Emergency – Count Buffalos (Toshiba EMI)

This is a pretty cool image ruined by some wrong-headed typesetting for what is actually a very funky Japanese “jazz rock” album from 1976 that I bought at another charity shop in Newquay. The inner sleeve is where the package begins to shine. ¬†Hyperdetailed, technical explanations of the direct disk recording, the equipment, mic placement, instruments and disk cutting are lucid and interesting.Further discussion of “PRECAUTIONS to be taken in order to get the most enjoyment from your direct-cut disc” verge on the patronising, however, I think the instructions were followed to the letter since the album was in mint condish and still sounds awesome allowing me “to immensely enjoy for a very long time the musical and sonic pleasures of this direct-cut disk.”
