Isaac Hayes – Juicy Fruit (Disco Freak) (ABCD-953) (1976)

Funky concept album of sorts from the Hot Buttered Soul baritone dealing with the ways and means of physical love–the first two and a half minutes (!) of the title track consist of a cacophonous party skit where men and women can be heard flirting shamelessly over the din (sample dialogue: “I guess you’re tellin’ me those are watermelons in your back pockets.” “You wan’ squeeze?”). His voice is much more suited to funky tracks, the slow, smoochy one exposes our Chef’s limitations.

I wonder whose idea this pre-feminist/pre-PC cover was? Fruity or what?
